What is the delivery time for a domestic shipment?

Domestic shipments are transported up to 2 business days after the shipment is handed over to the courier, but usually the delivery takes place on the next business day.

What is the delivery time for an international shipment?

Depending on the purchase service, we will be happy to check this information based on the destination country.

Can I pre-pay shipping from abroad?

Yes, you can make a booking from your home country, prepay for shipping posted by your family or friends from abroad, you will need to send to them a shipping document by email or any other electronic way. We will also need a date and time when the driver can pick up parcels from abroad.

Can I ship laptop, tablet or mobile phone

Yes, you can ship a laptop. We provide special boxes for laptops. If you need any laptop box please let us know by placing an order, then we will deliver directly to your door next business day (order placed before 11 am)

Will the courier call the recipient before delivery?

Drivers are not required to call the recipient, but they do it more and more often to confirm their arrival. We are not able to guarantee a phone call.

Ordering a courier

If you want to order a courier, chose a box or envelope, shipping country, then we will need our details as sender and details of receiver. At the checkout you can chose collection date. Once you place an order you will will receive a tracking number.

How to change collection date/time

Please send an email with new details, date and time and we will do our best to amend booking, however some carriers are not allowed to modify booking once shipping reference has been generated. We will be happy to reschedule for you, no extra charge. Collection date and time cannot be guaranteed.

The courier is late to pick up the parcel, what to do?

Please call our customer service 00353 1 4456437 or send an email to: sales@varamex.com we will check with the courier company and inform you about status.

The shipment status is still the same

All information is displayed in accordance with the information provided by the courier company. Once the parcel is scanned, the status is changed to “Pick up scan” Normally status is changed on the next working day. All parcels are covered in case they are lost in transit. Standard cover is up to €70, which means that in case if the parcel is lost in transit you can claim for compensation of lost parcel. The compensation will be paid by the courier company, also the claim must be sent directly to them, we will be happy to assist you.

As soon as you buy a product from a non-EU country or post/receive a goods to/from a non-EU country then effectively you or the recipient become an importer and become liable to Customs and Excise Duty as well as Value Added Tax (VAT) payments. If the terms of sale do not specify another arrangement, the goods would normally be held by the Customs Authority at entry, pending the payment of duty and tax.

These charges must be paid upfront before the goods can be released. Once the custom tax and duties are paid, the courier will deliver goods normally within 1-3 working days.

You cannot claim a refund for an undelivered parcel if the payment of the customs charges and duties are due to pay.

Custom Taxes and duties are regulated by the Government of the recipient country.

The shipping company and Varamex can only assist to hire a customs broker in case there is an issue with clearance.

Does Varamex deliver to PO Boxes?

Yes but only to some countries in Africa. It`s not allowed for shipping within Europe.

They are confiscated by customs and sold via auction They are destroyed (especially if they are perishable, of low value, hazardous, etc) They are scrapped for parts They are reclaimed by the shipper and returned to origin They are re-routed to an alternative buyer

What is Customs?

Customs is an official body and a public administration, which is responsible for regulating all activities related to the entry and exit of products, people and even the capital of a country. Customs offices are responsible for import goods to the country, if the goods value are higher than allowed by local Government law, then customs tax and duties apply. This is called customs clearance process. Once customs clearance is completed the customs tax must be paid to release the goods from customs, otherwise are held until the payment is made. The payment of customs duties must be paid within specified time. If receiver refuse to pay the parcel will be seized by local customs, called parcel is abandoned.

Does Varamex ship pallets?

Yes, we ship pallets. The price is on request, please contact us to get a quotation. We will need dimension, weight and description of goods.

From which countries can I post a parcel to another country?

We almost deliver from any country to any country. At the moment we deliver to 220 countries globally.

How to change or cancel my booking?

We can only change your shipping address once the parcel wasn't collected by the driver. The cancellation is possible only on the same day and only in case the parcel was not collected by the driver. How far in advance I need to book, how soon can you collect?

Varamex usually collects parcels the same day or next business day, depending on the time when the order was placed and depends on scheduled collection date and time.
